About Amy


Amy creates art. As a dancer, visionary, choreographer and raw food artist. She is a lover of nature and adventure. A graduate of Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Hartford Conservatory for Dance, Limon Professionals Studies Program, Lotus Gardens, ACE, NASM, and Lotus Palm Thai Massage School.
She works as a guest of radio programs talking about health and positivity. Organizes large community events. She also teaches nutrition, yoga and dance workshops.

Driven by inspiration. Amy now organizes The Trashion Fashion Show; a large community event that began as an idea and now is an annual event. She lives in New York City and Connecticut. Choreographs and performs in both states.

Amy is working on her newest project: Sweet Collaborations. A dessert party experience. Stay tuned!

About Amy as a dancer...

Amy Merli is a Professional dancer who is diverse and dedicated. She has studied with many influential modern dancers, modern companies, ballet teachers, ballet companies, and jazz teachers. Amy started dancing later in life and took her first modern class and real ballet class the summer before she turned 18 at the Hartford Conservatory. Every teacher she ever worked with was always fascinated by her growth and improvement in a short period of time.

Amy studied at the Hartford Conservatory and while working on her double major of Pedagogy and Performance she also choreographed for the musical theater department and taught many of the creative movement dance classes at the school. Amy performed and toured with Full Force Dance Theater under the direction of Katie Stevenson until she moved to NYC to study with the Limon Company. While involved in the Limon Professional Studies Program, Amy performed Limon and Humphrey repertory throughout New York, as well as working with Limon present and past company members.

Amy has participated summer and winter Paul Taylor Company Intensives and has performed many different Taylor rep. Amy has done Horton workshops with Milton Meyers as well as workshops with Cedar Lake Ballet, Leah Cox, Donald Byrd, Complexions, SYREN, Robert Battle, Robert K Moses, Sean Curren and the Boulder Jazz Dance Festival. She has also performed with Pioneer Valley Ballet and Dance Connect. Amy was one of the dancers selected to be apart of Hartford dancers 2008 a tribute to Ted Hershey; working with Laura Glenn, Paul Dennis, and Michael Utoff. Currently she performs, teaches company class and choreographs for CONNetic Dance; a contemporary ballet company that performs throughout New England. Amy is also an independent artist and has performed in Madrid 2009 and performed shadow work with Catapult directed by Adam Battelstein.
